Cupping
Cupping feels like massage (only, in reverse!). By pulling the muscles and fascia upwards, it creates more space between otherwise stuck-together tissue layers, thereby allowing body fluids to flow more freely and flush out toxins to the surface of the skin where the immune system is better able to eliminate them.
During a cupping session, a practitioner places round cups directly on your skin. The cup is either first heated with fire or manually pumped to create a suction. The cups are then left on specific spots on the skin for several minutes.

People turn to cupping for various reasons, and its proponents claim that it can provide several health benefits. Some potential benefits suggested by those who practice or receive cupping include:
-
Pain Relief: Cupping is often used to alleviate muscle and joint pain. The suction is believed to increase blood flow to the affected area, promoting healing and reducing pain.
-
Reduced Inflammation: Advocates claim that cupping may help reduce inflammation, making it potentially beneficial for conditions such as arthritis.
-
Relaxation and Stress Reduction: The therapy is thought to promote relaxation by releasing muscle tension and improving blood flow, which can have a calming effect.
-
Detoxification: Some proponents believe that cupping helps remove toxins from the body by drawing them to the surface, although there is little scientific evidence to support this claim.
